OVERVIEW
Vaco Dallas is seeking an experienced and visionary Director, ERP (D365 F&O / SCM) for a direct hire role in North Dallas, TX. The ERP Director will lead the strategic direction, implementation, and ongoing management of the D365 Finance and Operations (F&O) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) solutions. This role requires a dynamic leader with an executive presence who can operate at both strategic and tactical levels, bridging the gap between business and technology. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading D365 ERP initiatives in a public company, is a functional/technical leader, and remains hands-on to drive critical outcomes. This role combines executive oversight with a technical and functional leadership approach, ensuring ERP solutions deliver maximum value to the organization while fostering innovation and operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the ERP strategy, aligning it with business objectives and ensuring scalability for future growth.
- Serve as a key advisor to the executive team, providing insights and recommendations on ERP-related initiatives.
- Act as the primary owner of the D365 F&O and SCM platforms, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with organizational goals.
Functional and Technical Oversight:
- Lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of D365 F&O and SCM solutions to meet business needs.
- Provide hands-on guidance for complex problem-solving and technical challenges, stepping in as needed to ensure delivery.
- Oversee the governance and compliance of ERP solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing ERP team, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Act as a functional and technical mentor, guiding the team through both strategic planning and execution phases.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with IT, finance, supply chain, and other business units to ensure cohesive ERP processes.
Product Ownership:
- Define and prioritize the ERP product roadmap, incorporating stakeholder feedback to guide iterative improvements.
- Oversee backlog management, user story development, and sprint planning to maximize the value of ERP solutions.
- Lead agile ceremonies, including sprint reviews, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
Business Process Optimization:
- Analyze, document, and optimize business processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness.
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring solutions address explicit and implicit requirements.
- Translate conceptual business requirements into actionable functional and technical deliverables.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define ERP objectives and KPIs, providing regular updates on project progress and performance.
- Establish clear communication channels between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Maintain a focus on change management, ensuring smooth transitions during upgrades and new implementations.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying innovative solutions to improve ERP capabilities.
- Drive automation, integration, and data optimization efforts within the ERP ecosystem.
- Establish best practices for ERP lifecycle management, including upgrades, testing, and user training.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in ERP leadership roles, including extensive D365 F&O and SCM experience in a public company setting.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale ERP implementations and optimizations.
- Strong technical foundation with the ability to step in hands-on when required.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and stakeholders effectively.
- Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Executive Presence: The ERP Director must demonstrate strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to inspire confidence at all organizational levels. This includes presenting to C-suite executives, guiding cross-functional teams, and championing ERP initiatives that align with business goals.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or MBA.
- Certifications such as Product Owner (CSPO/PSPO) or Project Management (PMP).
- Experience with international logistics, supply chain, and regulatory compliance.
In our commitment to transparency throughout the hiring process, we provide a target annual base salary range of $165,000 - $180,000 + bonus & stock for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) experience, work location, and skills. Additionally, this position is eligible for comprehensive benefits provided by the hiring employer.
